The Lord’s Prayer III

         Opening Prayer

First: please tell the children the story The Power of the Prayer, which was taken from the site www.momento.com.br.

Second: please stimulate a dialog with the children related to the story.

We need to prepare our hearts in order to search for Divine help. It is useless to ask for help with we are full of hate, selfishness, jealousy, badness, etc.

It’s important to do our part as well on the tasks when we ask God for something.

The mechanisms of prayer: to ask, to learn how to ask and, above all, we need to deserve what we asked, for it to happen.

A prayer will always give us the necessary strength to overcome challenges, difficulties and understand the reasons behind that situation.

We can pray asking to be guided during our sleep so that during the day we can receive the intuition which will help us to solve our problems. Sometimes we already wake up feeling much better; or with a new idea which came around the issue we are trying to resolve.

There are lots of occasion people pray to God asking for health, but destroy it due to their vices with cigarettes, good, alcohol, drugs, etc.

If we really want to ask for something, let’s ask for strength to overcome our vices, our imperfections.

Third: please mention the biblical passages in which Jesus talks about prayer: Ask and you shall obtain; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you; Help yourself and Heaven will help you, Please highlight that every passage shows the person who ask needs to have a positive attitude, since the one who prays needs to do his part of the task.

The text below was taken from this book. It could be read by the students all together or individually.
