First: Opening prayer; get the children to repeat after the Spiritist volunteer. As weeks go by the Spiritist volunteers should encourage the children to volunteer for this task. If they don’t want to collaborate we could say we will follow the letters of the alphabet. The child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks unfold. The child’s name that starts with the letter B will do the closing prayer at the end of the session.
Second: Welcome the children into the session. Say how happy we are to see them there and how important they are for the class. Sing songs together; get the children to remain standing but in a circle.
Hello my friend,
Let’s learn and play,
We will learn about Jesus all night long!
Good morning
Good morning, good morning, good morning (say the name of one of the children)
I am so happy today. Hooray!
Good morning, good morning, good morning (say the name of one of the children)
My heart wants to say
Good morning, good morning, good morning (say the name of one of the children)
Let's all sing and play
For Nature is so beautiful and wise
Teaches us to love every day
+++ repeat this song if necessary, as every child should hear their name being sang; this will help the children to feel integrated into the group)
+++ sing other songs from the songs’ list as per attached here.
Third: Get the children to sit down into a circle. The Spiritist volunteer will need to bring a teddy bear to this class which will be used throughout this lesson. Tell them that today we will learn together about sight, hearing and touch.
Get the children to cover their eyes. Once they closed their eyes, spray some perfume around the room. Ask them what’s happened that’s different from before. Listen to their answers.
Get the children to cover their eyes again. Once they closed their eyes, ring a bell around the room. Ask them what’s happened that’s different from before. Listen to their answers.
Ask them to tell you what they can see. Bring the teddy bear and place it in the middle of the circle. Ask them to open their eyes and tell if there’s anything different in the room. Introduce them to Tony, the teddy bear. He will be one of helpers of the day.
Ask the children, one question at a time: What have you used that enabled you to smell that scent previously? What have you used that enabled you to hear the bell previously? What have you used that enabled you to see Tony, the teddy bear? How important is our sight for our lives? What about our hearing? Listen to their answers.
Fourth: (6:20pm – 6:30pm) Tell them an adapted version of the story called The boy and the rainbow by Célia Xavier Camargo., Use Tony, the teddy bear as the main character of the story in order to get the children to engage with the story. The Spiritist volunteer could bring another teddy bear to role play Mother Bear.

Fifth: Ask questions about the story.
* What happened with Tony, the Teddy bear?
* What has Tony, the Teddy bear learned from this experience?
* What can we learn from Tony?
* What about our fingers, our eyes, our ears? Are they all important?
* How important are they?
* How can we look after our eyes?
* How can we thank God for our eyes, ears, fingers?
Sixth: Colouring activity based on parts of the story. Give each of them pictures of Tony, the Teddy Bear and Mother Bear for them to colour at their own pace.

Seventh: Games.
1. Get cardboard paper cards with different shapes drawn on them. Place the cards in different parts of the room and ask each child to find a card, show to rest of the group the shape they found and point out to something in the room where that shape could be found. Ask the children: How important is our vision?
2. Get a bag full of different objects, such as a toothbrush, a comb, empty bottle of water, a piece of wood, a toy, a spoon, a wooden ring, etc. Ask each child to place his/her hand inside and touch the objects. Ask him/her to name one of the objects. Get all children to interact with the objects. Ask the children: How important is touch?
3. Play the video called ‘Transportation, Animals, Musicals, Home Stuffs, Body and more Sounds for Kids and Babies’ which is available on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzw2_PAWjUw Ask the children to work together collectively in order to find out what each sound related to. Ask the children: How important is our hearing?
Eighth: Soap bubbles activity - Get the children to get in contact with the soap bubbles. Ask them: Can you see the bubbles? Can you also feel the bubbles? Can you hold them? Please a relaxing song to get the children to enjoy this part of the class.
Ninth: Get the children to help cleaning the room.
Closing prayer - one of the children will do a closing prayer; encourage the children to volunteer for this task. If they don’t want to collaborate we could say we will follow the letters of the alphabet. The child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate.
