Dear friends,

                  It would be good if the spiritist teacher avoided telling the same parables/cures to the children; using the same techniques every year.

                  We suggest the spiritist teacher talk, organize and split Jesus’ parables/cures which should be told in each cycle. Spiritist education is split into cycles of two years each. The kindergarten is for children of ages of 3 and 4. Since the children stay two years in each cycle, it is good to have two alternatives to be told. This will avoid the same parable/cure which was told in the first year to be told again on the following year.

                  Here is a suggested division of contents and aspects to be approached in each cycle about Jesus; this is based on the Brazilian Spiritist Federation Curriculum.

Jesus and his Doctrine

         a - Jesus’ birth

         - Place where He was born: Bethlehem;
         - Jesus was born in a stable; the most humble of circumstances surrounded by animals and his family;
         - The birth of Jesus was expected by the people (there were old prophecies that affirmed the Master would come);
         - We celebrate Jesus' birth on Christmas, but this is just a symbolic date since no one really knows exactly when Jesus was born.

         b - Jesus’ family

         - Jesus was the son of Joseph and Mary;
         - Jesus’ family is similar to ours; with mom, dad and children;
         - Mary was pregnant and after 9 months Jesus was born;
         - Joseph was a carpenter and Mary was a looking after their home;
         - Jesus learned his dad’s profession, since at that time the parents taught their profession to their children;
         - Jesus helped with the house duties;
         - He was a well educated and behaved child.

         c - Jesus, our Master

         - Jesus taught us about love, about being a friend (friendship); not fighting, being good, respecting the elderly, obeying our parents;
         - Jesus taught through stories;

         Suggestion:

         1 - The parable of the bad rich man from The Gospel According to Spiritism (Luke 16:19-31).

         2 - The Parable of the Good Samaritan from The Gospel According to Spiritism (Luke 10:25-37).

         Techniques:

         A manger or a stable could be built to be used to tell the children about Jesus’ birth;
         The spiritist teacher could also create a cinema from drawings of Jesus’ birth using paper towel or toilet paper;
         A Mini Book and Coloring Pages can be distributed to the children so they are able to color at home, or during the story. They could form a book at the end of the life of Jesus and the parables.

         Mini Book and Coloring Pages.
