Spirit - existence and survival V
(Who am I? Am Spirit)

         Opening prayer

First: Read excerpts from the letter based on real events. Emphasize that this is something true; that is, it really happened.

Second: distribute different types of candies. There should be two of each type, so the children pair up as the chosen type of candy. Thus, each pair is formed by two equal candies.

Third: Distribute the questions below; a question for each pair. The children should take a few minutes to talk about the answer to the question, or ask the spiritist teacher. In the large group, questions should be read and answered by each team. The other children can complement the answers. The spiritist teacher should complement and answer any questions that arise, if necessary.

Note: questions must be numbered in sequence and distributed in strips for ease of interpretation and analysis of the letter which was read:

         Suggested questions and answers:

1 - What separates this letter from another letter we received in the mail? This letter was psychographed; that is, a message sent by a disincarnate spirit and received through a medium.

2 - Who is Charlie and what happened to him? Charlie is a boy who passed away.

3 - If Charlie died, how come he is talking now? The body died, but the spirit remains alive.

4 - Where's Charlie? He is in the Spirit World.

5 - How does he communicate? Through a medium - someone who hears, sees and understands the Spirits.

6 - Are we the body or the spirit? We are spirits and have a physical body.

7 - What is soul? It's when we call the Spirit that is incarnate. The material body is temporary, because it is the transient home of the Spirit (mortal, for a short period of time).

8 - What is the difference between Charlie and us? ? Charlie's disincarnated; living in the Spirit World. We are incarnated; living in the Material World.

9 - Have we reincarnated several times? Yes, we reincarnated as many times as necessary for our learning; our evolution.

10 - Who lived several existences: the body or the spirit? The Spirit reincarnates several times; always in new physical body.

11 - When we die, who dies? It’s only the physical body that dies; the spirit is still alive.

12 - Who is reborn many times? The same Spirit; in other physical bodies.

13 - Why must we be reborn? To learn to love and progress; getting closer and closer to God; our Father.

14 - Why do we say that the body is transitory home of the Spirit (mortal; for a short period of time)? Because the Spirit is always the same; that is, we are spirits and received a different physical body in each reincarnation.

Note: the goal to be attained is to get children realize that WE ARE ALL SPIRITS and WE HAVE A PHYSICAL BODY that we receive in each reincarnation.

Fourth - activity: Distribute small pieces of coloured cardboard, so the children can illustrate the words and phrases related to the theme of the lesson. Paste the pictures into a single, large poster and exhibit at the Spiritist Centre. If the spiritist teacher can take coloured glue, glitter and coloured cotton to this class, this will help this work become even more enjoyable for the children.
