Love to one another

         Opening Prayer

First: please write the following phrase on the board:

LOVE TO ONE ANOTHER IS TO DO TO OTHERS WHAT WE WANT THEM TO DO TO US.

Second: please ask the children to comment on this phrase, relating examples and/or situations it could be applied.

Third: split the children into pairs (or trios) and hand out a paper where a situation is written on it. Each pair (or trio) will talk and discuss it as a team, deciding what is the best solution/attitude to be taken by the people involved, based on the phrase that is written on the board: Love one another is to do to others what we want them to do to us.

Click here to find some suggested situations.

Obs: the spiritist teacher should make him/her available to help the groups and encourage the children by asking these questions: How do you think this person is feeling in this situation? What do you think will happen? What would you do if you were on that situation?

Fourth: ask the children to sit in a circle; the pairs or trios should be sitting close to one another. Please ask each team to share the situation they have with the rest of the group, as well as their conclusions. The spiritist teacher as well as the other children should comment on it after each presentation.

Obs.: once each presentation is finished, please encourage everyone to applause; this is important for the children to feel valued and encouraged to do more presentations.

Suggestion received from the Spiritist Teacher Carolina von Scharten from Sir William Crookes Spiritist Society linked to BUSS - The British Union of Spiritist Societies:

We suggest the use of recycled materials whenever possible at the spiritist education classes.

Click here to find pictures referring to the flowers’ garden, created by the children. We created this garden with them and related to the love we make available to others; to our brothers. We mentioned we are just like flowers, who flourish with knowledge and the practice of charity.

How to create flowers from egg carton boxes:
         1. Carefully cut individual cups off the egg carton.
         2. Next, cut points along the top of each cup so they look like tulips.
         3. Colour them as you wish!

         Closing Prayer

Class Suggested being suitable for: 2nd (9 to 10 years old) and 3rd cycles (11 to 12 years old).
