          What are friends? They are sympathetic spirits who are drawn to us by personal affection, and by a similarity of tastes. We feel affection for these spirits and trust them; who we help, console, being present at difficult times and at happier moments.

          What does it mean to be a friend? To be a friend is to understand, to listen to one another, to forgive, not to wait for something in return because of the goodness you have done. It also means to give good advices, never to offer drugs, never to place your friend in dangerous situations, never lie or deceive.

          Friendship is the presence of God in our lives.

          Friends are colleagues of our journey who facilitate our existence. They are a gift from God for us.

          Many of our friends are known to us from previous incarnations; we meet them once again in this existence.

          What do we need to sustain a true friendship? Strength, time, forgiveness, tolerance, patience, sincerity and loyalty…

         Third: please remind them we have a very special friend, who is always by our side throughout our life: our guardian angel. He is the one who is by our side everyday, even when we are asleep. He helps, protects and tries to lead us to the practice of goodness. We need to learn to feel our protector spirit by our side so he can help us. We can ask through our prayers for him to help and guide us.

         Fourth: God sent us a great friend to be our guide and role model; He came here to show us the true way to happiness: Jesus.

         625. What is the most perfect type that God has offered to man as his guide and model? "Jesus."

         Jesus is the type of the moral perfection to which man may attain upon this earth. God offers Him to our thought as our most perfect model and the doctrine taught by Him is the purest expression of the divine law, because He was animated by the divine spirit, and was the purest being who has ever appeared upon the earth. If some of those who have professed to instruct man in the law of God have sometimes led him astray by the inculcation of error. It is because they have allowed themselves to be swayed by sentiments of too earthly a nature, and because they have confounded the laws which regulate the conditions of the life of the soul which regulate the life of the body. Many pretended revealers have announced as divine laws what were only human laws, devised by them for serving their own passions and obtaining dominion over their fellow-men.

         Fifth - activity 1: please prepare a little illustrate letter (with drawings) for your best friends. Please write down what you like about him/her, describe some good moments you shared, some of the games you played together, the joys and strength he/she offers you at difficult times.

         Suggested activity 2: please make the folding called friend’s game. This suggestion has been based on an activity from the book called 25 activities for Emotional and Intuitive Education from Rita Foelker.

         Observations:

         * On steps 6-7 you can make a drawing or glue a sticker.

         * Please write positive sentences about friendship beneath the borders. Ex.: It’s great to have friends like you. You are really nice. You are intelligent.

         * After this origami is ready, please ask one friend to say a number counting from one to ten. Please move it the same number of times. Please ask your friend to choose one boarder and read the message over to him.
