The Sun

First: (5:45pm – 5:55pm): Opening prayer; get the children to repeat after the Spiritist volunteer. As weeks go by the Spiritist volunteers should encourage the children to volunteer for this task. If they don’t want to collaborate we could say we will follow the letters of the alphabet. The child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks unfold. The child’s name that starts with the letter B will do the closing prayer at the end of the session.

Second: (5:55pm – 6:15pm) Welcome the children into the session. Say how happy we are to see them there and how important they are for the class. Sing songs together; get the children to remain standing but in a circle.

Good morning

Good morning, good morning, good morning (say the name of one of the children)
I am so happy today. Hooray!
Good morning, good morning, good morning (say the name of one of the children)
My heart wants to say
Good morning, good morning, good morning (say the name of one of the children)

Let's all sing and play
For Nature is so beautiful and wise
Teaches us to love every day

+++ repeat this song if necessary, as every child should hear their name being sang; this will help the children to feel integrated into the group)

+++ sing other songs from the songs’ list as per attached here.

+++ please find an additional list of songs attached here.

Third: Get them to also sing the following song.

‘My God is so Big’

My God is so Big,

My God is so Big,
So strong and so mighty,
There is nothing that He cannot do (2x)

The rivers are His,
The mountains are His,
The stars are His handy work too.

         Fourth: Dialog with the children.

Today we are going to talk about the sun; that’s wonderful star!

Who was the fantastic Creator of the sun?

Yes, it was God, Who also Created the moon, all the others stars in the sky and the planets. He is the Creator of everything around the world, includinge us.

Why did God create the sun for? The Spiritist worker can bring pictures and use them ats the same time as the children would be giving their answers.

“The sun provides the earth with light and energy source. It helps the plants to grow and breathe; oxygen for the animals and vitamins for the humans.

The sun makes people happier, with more enthusiasm and energy to do things. It also very good for all the human beings healthy: babies, children, adults and elderly people. How God was magnanimous!"

Fifth: Prepare the class for the history “The sun light”.

         Sixth: Conversation about the history

         * Ask what they can remember that was told in the history.

         * Ask the examples given in the history in relation to the benefits of the sun.

         * Ask the kids all the nice things we can do when it’s sunny. Stimulate them to act.

Seventh: Play the following video taken from youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VASPRy6VQ-c

Eighth: Activity called the sun mask

Ninth: Sing the song above and celebrate all together for this wonderful God’s present: The Sun.
