Society According to God’s Law – First Cycle
First: Welcome the children into the session. Say how happy we are to see them and how important they are for the class. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the opening prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks passed by.
After that, the Spiritist worker will introduce the “Raffle Box of Prayers”. In your turn, each child will open the box, choose one prayer and read it loudly for whole class. We will do it until all the kids have their chance to choose and read a prayer.
When the activity with the “Raffle box of Prayers” finishes the volunteer will collect the booklet “The Lord’s Prayer” with the children who was responsible in the previous week.
The volunteer can make up a few questions, such as:
* What did you most like in this prayer;
* What could you learn during the week with the prayer and others
The child can also read the prayer for his/hers colleagues. Another child will be able to choose himself/herself to take the booklet home and bring next week, at the end of this activity.
The Lord’s Prayer booklet
P.S. At the end of the class the parents will be informed and also asked about their availability to bring the booklet next week.
Second: Prayer Activity - The volunteer will discuss with the children about the prayer: “Prayer for the Love in the word” from the book LEARNING HOW TO PRAY - A BOOK OF PRAYERS FOR CHILDREN by Elsa Rossi. Each one will also receive a copy of the prayer.
Prayer for the Love in the World
Dear Jesus,
My dad always starts to pray by asking for the protection for the world.
I want to do just like him and ask you to protect the world and to make love grow in people’s hearts.
May love be in everybody’s smile and in the joy of life so that this way we all can be good neighbours and live in harmony?
Please, Jesus, help the whole world become full of love!
Third: Sing songs together; get the children to remain standing but in a circle.
Fourth: Introduction to the topic - The Spiritist Volunteer will bring some paper strips with contents the following expressions.
Gods’ Law
Jesus Said
What I do
The children should put the words written bellow in the correspondent group. The volunteer can also bring pictures to illustrate some actions.

The law of Society
Help each other
Love one another
Help at home
Lend my pen
Share my toys with my friends
Play together

Cleaning together
After, the children will be asked to say which of the actions they do in order to collaborate within the society and also applying God’s Law.
Fifth: Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkPcLJcYF8w
The volunteer should stop the video around (5:15) and ask a few questions
* What do you think should happen now?
* Would you think about the man and the girl’s attitude with Peter?
* What should Jesus have done with him?
* What does Jesus teach us?
After those questions the children should see the end of the history.

Sixth: Find the correct order - The volunteer will bring 2 stories about Jesus’ teachings and how many people he helped. Those will be mixed all together in a bag. The children will be asked to separate each one and put them in order.
After, they should read both stories.
Seventh: Now let’s learn a little bit more about Jesus’ love and his parables
“Parable of Good Samaritan”
Put in order and find the sticker for the empty space.
Each one will read one square of the parable until the story finishes.
Jesus healed a paralytic
The volunteer will bring this story in pictures and the children should put it in writing. After, the volunteer will give the story (in words) for them.
Chat with the children:
Do you think Jesus was a good man? Why?
Did he help people?
Do you think we should follow what he did?
What do you think you can do to be a good boy at home, at school, at street, at the spiritual centre?
What do you think we can do to help people as Jesus taught us?
Extra activity:
The volunteer will bring some heart shapes and the children should draw what they do to help people.
Eighth: Healing Theatre - Prepare the kids for the healing time. Put one chair at the centre of the room and ask for two children to step forward at each time to take part of the activity. The volunteer will ask one of the children to seat in the chair and do a good or bad example of behaviour during the healing time. Then, the other children will have to choose between 2 signs: well done/right or a red cross/bad action. Each pair will have the chance to participate at a time.
Ninth: Closing prayer - One of the children will do a closing prayer. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the closing prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter B will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks passed by.
