First: Welcome the children into the session. Say how happy we are to see them and how important they are for the class. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the opening prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks passed by.

         After that, the Spiritist worker will introduce the “Raffle Box of Prayers”. In your turn, each child will open the box, choose one prayer and read it loudly for whole class. We will do it until all the kids have their chance to choose and read a prayer.

         When the activity with the “Raffle box of Prayers” finishes the volunteer will collect the booklet “The Lord’s Prayer” with the children who was responsible in the previous week.

         The volunteer can make up a few questions, such as:

         * What did you most like in this prayer;

         * What could you learn during the week with the prayer and others.

         The child can also read the prayer for his/hers colleagues. Another child will be able to choose himself/herself to take the booklet home and bring next week, at the end of this activity.

         P.S. At the end of the class the parents will be informed and also asked about their availability to bring the booklet next week.

         Second: Be on your shoes

         The main purpose of this activity is to show the children the importance of respecting our friends’ feelings because we would also like to be respected.

         Each child at his/her turn should start the activity telling us about:

         * Something really nice they had done;
         * Their favourite food;
         * Their favourite place.

         Meanwhile, the other child will be asked to:
         * Start laughing;
         * Pretend to fall asleep;
         * Don’t listen.

         The volunteer will, soon after, ask them to tell how and what they felt when they were saying something important and others weren’t respecting. The volunteer and the children can talk about the emotions what came up.

         (Encourage them to write or make drawings about their emotions)

         All children should take turns; play in both situations.
         Ask what they can do better next time.

         After, they should role play again, but now with a good behaviour. (Leave the children to tell us their own answers for the good behaviours)

         Third: Prepare the story

         The children will prepare the scenario below (Jesus heals the paralysed man) with recycled materials.


         Fourth: Story

         The volunteer will tell the story: “Jesus heals the paralysed man”. Meanwhile, the children will use their own works to role play.

         After, one child can read the story while the others would be following using their own works.

         Sixth: Reading Time:

         The volunteer will read one question from the book: “The Spiritist for young adults and beginners” by Laura Bergallo and talk to the kids about it.

         Seventh: Prayer Activity

         The volunteer will discuss with the children about the prayer “ A Prayer to my parents” from the book LEARNING HOW TO PRAY – A BOOK OF PRAYERS FOR CHILDREN by Elsa Rossi. Each one will also receive a copy of the prayer.

         They always worry about me and do the best they can to help me grow up healthy and educated.
         Please my God, always protect my parents.

         Eighth: Healing Theatre – Children should show how to behave during the healing time. Each child will receive one green tick sticker at the end.

         Ninth: Closing prayer - One of the children will do a closing prayer. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the closing prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter B will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks passed by.

         Class suggested being suitable for: 1st Cycle (7 to 8 years old).
