Love for Kindergarten

First: Welcome the children into the session. Say how happy we are to see them and how important they are for the class. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the opening prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks pass by.

After that, the Spiritist worker will introduce the “Raffle Box of Prayers”. In your turn, each child will open the box, choose one prayer and read it loudly for whole class. We will do it until all the kids have their chance to choose and read a prayer.

When the activity with the “Raffle box of Prayers” finishes the volunteer will collect the booklet “The Lord’s Prayer” with the children who was responsible in the previous week.

The volunteer can make up a few questions, such as:

         * What did you most like in this prayer;
         * What could you learn during the week with the prayer and others.

The child can also read the prayer for his/hers colleagues. Another child will be able to choose himself/herself to take the booklet home and bring next week, at the end of this activity.

P.S. At the end of the class the parents will be informed and also asked about their availability to bring the booklet next week.

The group would be divided into 2 small groups

Second: Tell the children the following Story – The parable of the lost sheep

Extra ideas: The volunteer will bring some pictures of Jesus that can be used during the story.

Fourth: Video - Parable of the lost sheep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=094upaf4BME

Get the children to use their ‘sheeps’, which were prepared earlier, to retell the story. This will enable us to double check if they understood the story.

Fifth: Colouring/gluing Activity - see below.

Sixth: Activity - Play "Find the Bugs" Card Game: Place all the cards in a bag and mix them up. The volunteer will tell the children that a lot of bugs were caught. Have them take turns reaching in the bag and pulling out a card. The child needs to give an example of how we can love from what is written on the card. For example, if he pulls out a "Love is Kind" card, he may say, "We can be kind by giving to others."

         Find the game here

A Daily Schedule Pocket Chart will be used in this activity. The children will be asked to place the cards inside the pocket chart once they have finished playing with it. Each child will have a turn to pick a card.

Seventh: Activity – The volunteer has prepared bugs made our of egg cartons. Each child will carry a bug on a tray and, once the music stops, will need to hand it over to another child to encourage sharing.

         Get whole group back together

         Tenth: Prayer Activity.

         Eleventh: Healing Theatre
The children should show how to behave during the healing and prayer time.
The volunteer will bring a tray in order to introduce the education process after the healing: “taking the first cup of the tray”. At the end each child will receive one green tick stick.

Twelth: Closing prayer: The volunteer will do the closing prayer and ask that all the kids to repeat after he/she.
