Love for First Cycle

         First: Welcome the children into the session. Say how happy we are to see them and how important they are for the class. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the opening prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks passed by.

         After that, the Spiritist worker will introduce the “Raffle Box of Prayers”. In your turn, each child will open the box, choose one prayer and read it loudly for whole class. We will do it until all the kids have their chance to choose and read a prayer.

         When the activity with the “Raffle box of Prayers” finishes the volunteer would collect the booklet “The Lord’s Prayer” with the children who was responsible in the previous week.

         The volunteer can make up a few questions, such as:

         * What did you most like in this prayer;

         * What could you learn during the week with the prayer and others.

         The child can also read the prayer for his/hers colleagues. Another child will be able to choose himself/herself to take the booklet home and bring next week, at the end of this activity.

         The Lord’s Prayer booklet

         P.S. At the end of the class the parents will be informed and also asked about their availability to bring the booklet next week.

         The group would be divided into 2 small groups

         Second: Guess the lesson of the day

         Pictures will be placed on the table and the kids should guess what we would be talking about.

         Examples of pictures:

         The children should THEN write in few pieces of paper what the word love means to them. Or they can either write what they felt when they saw those pictures.

         Third: The love box.

         The volunteer will bring a box called Love (A mirror should be placed inside of the box)
         Ask the children: “Where can we find the seeds of love?” Let’s find it out?
         The children will be advised that they should be silent during the activity.
         So, each child will be asked to open the box and see where we can find those seeds, in his/her turn.

         After, the volunteer should discuss with the children about:
         * We are all children of God; therefore, we all bring the seed of love inside of us;
         Ask the children how they felt during the activity.

         After, the volunteer will bring another box called: The love sower.
         A mirror will be placed inside of the box
         Ask the children: “Who can be a sower of love?” Let’s find it out?

         So, each child will be asked to open the box, in his/her turn, and see who can be a sower of love.
         After, the volunteer should discuss with the children about:
         * We all bring the seeds of good and love inside of all of us; through good actions we will make those seeds grow.

         The volunteer will bring a third box which will be called: ‘The real love’
         A picture of Jesus with his arms open will be placed inside of the box (see the picture below)
         Ask the children: “Where can we find real love?” Let’s find it out?
         The children will be advised that they should be silent during the activity.
         So, each child will be asked to open the box and see where we can find real love, in his/her turn.
         After, the volunteer should discuss with the children about:
         * Jesus is our older brother and Master who came on Earth to teach and show us the real meaning of the love.
         Emphasize that he still awaiting for us to develop the love we bring inside.

         Once they are finished the children should attach all the prayers together in order to create a beautiful and nice poster. They can also name it if they want to. At the end the volunteer should emphasize all the goodness we bring inside and the importance of everyone’s prayer.
