Humbleness for First Cycle

First: Welcome the children into the session. Say how happy we are to see them and how important they are for the class. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the opening prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter A will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks passed by.

Second: Prayer Activity – Get the children to create their own prayers. They will be able to decorate them as they wish. Ask each child to read the prayer to the rest of the group. Everyone will need to stop and listen to each one’s prayer.

When the activity with the “Raffle box of Prayers” finishes the volunteer will collect the booklet “The Lord’s Prayer” with the child who was responsible for it during the previous week.

         The Lord’s Prayer booklet

The volunteer can ask questions, such as the below:

         * What did you most like in this prayer;
         * What could you learn during the week with the prayer and others
         * Ask him/her to read the prayer to the rest of the group.

Another child will be able to choose himself/herself to take the booklet home and bring it back on the following week.

P.S. Parents will be informed and also asked about their availability to bring the booklet next week, at the end of the class.

Third: Sing songs together, which could be as follows.

My God is so Big https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyOdDrVnORc

Jesus love is very wonderful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaMVjO_GruA.

Fourth: Video - The volunteer will show them the video called: Jesus Heals Ten Lepers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVBZHz8oRp0

Fifth: Activity - Healing 10 Lepers Match Game (Luke 17:11-19)
Bible Lesson: This match game helps children enjoy finding images relating to the story of the grateful former leper who returned to thank Jesus. It highlights images from a larger picture that depicts the moment at which the healed leper returned to Jesus and began to express thanks to Him. Point out that it would have been easy to stay with the others who didn’t return to thank Jesus. Gratitude to Jesus is always appropriate. The volunteer will add they also have blessings for which they need to thank Jesus and God.

Print two sets of the cards. Cut out the cards along the black lines. Mix up the cards and lay them out face down in rows. Turn over any two cards at a time. If the pictures match, remove them from the table; this counts as one set. If you make a match, you may take another turn. If they do not match, turn them back over and let the next person try.

Extra activity: Sunday School Lesson Activity 703 Ten Lepers are Healed by Christ Mini Book.

Sixth: Activity - ‘I am Thankful for’ my Book. The children will create a book which will follow the following pages:

Seventh: Video called The Coat: A Story of Charity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp3IH8ZNviQ

Eighth: Extra activity - 5 step breathing technique, which was found on the internet:

         Ninth: Reading Time:
The volunteer will read one question from the book: “The Spiritist for young adults and beginners” by Laura Bergallo and talk to the kids about it.

         Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp3Kz7aq6Gw
Is There A God? - An interesting yet logical argument about God's existence!

Tenth: Healing Activity - Children should show how to behave during the healing time. Each child will receive one green tick sticker at the end.

Eleventh: Closing prayer - One of the children will do a closing prayer. Explain we will follow the letters of the alphabet in order to choose the volunteer for the closing prayer. So, the child’s name that starts with the letter B will do the opening prayer this time. Everybody will have the chance to collaborate as the weeks passed by.

Suggested activity to be given as Homework
