Opening Prayer
First: tell the children the story called Denis, the curious child. It is advised to take pictures of different types of animals to this class in order to introduce them into the story as their respective character makes a sound within the story. Ex: cat, dog, chicken, bird, calf, cow, pig, etc.
Second: reinforce with the children the functions of the sense organs. The spiritist teacher will need to take a chocolate bar to this class (or more than one, if necessary).
Please ask the children to pay attention to what the spiritist teacher will show them. Highlight that they identified the object is a chocolate bar with their eyes – vision.
The spiritist teacher should now ask the children to touch the chocolate bar (without opening) – touch.
Third, please ask the children to smell it without touching – smell.
The spiritist teacher should now ask the children to be silent, open the chocolate bar and break it into small pieces. Please ask the children if they heard the noise of the chocolate bar being opened and broken in different pieces - hearing.
Lastly, ask each child to eat a small piece of chocolate – taste (palate).
Third: colour one of the animals from the story just told.
