God

         Opening prayer

         First: tell them the story called The barber, taken from the book Stories that elevate the soul, by William Victor M. Lamb (DPL Publisher, New York, 2002).

         Second: talk about the story and the following themes:

          People who say they don’t believe in God;

          How each one believes and feels God;

          The instinctive feeling that God exists is within us all.

         Third: ask the young group to point out the principles of Spiritism. It’s important not to demand preconceived concepts from them; the spiritist teacher should consider all aspects the young people bring to the larger group, taking advantage of all the answers given.

         Fourth: form groups and distribute to each group one of the following questions from The Spirits’ Book:

         55. Are all the globes that revolve in space inhabited?

         114. Are spirits good or bad by nature, or are they the same spirits made better through their own efforts?

         132. What is the aim of the incarnation of spirits?

         134. What is the soul?

         149. What becomes of the soul at the moment of death?

         490. What is to be understood by the expression guardian angel?

         Fifth: each group should bring the answer to their question to the larger group. The rest of the young group can then complement these answers.

         Note: With this technique, it’s possible to understand what prior knowledge the young group have about Spiritism, which will make it easier for the spiritist teacher to prepare next upcoming classes.

         Closing Prayer
