Jesus – cures IV

You will find several suggestions in this class to work with the proposed topic.

Class Objectives: make the children aware that Jesus didn’t perform miracles, as he did not come to change the laws of God but to fulfill them. Jesus performed many phenomena as he is a perfect spirit that God has offered to man as his guide and model. He has high spiritual capabilities and knows how to use his thought and will for a superior purpose. He engaged in acts that were considered to be supernatural for the people at that time, since they did not have the knowledge of the divine laws. Jesus was the purest being who has ever appeared upon the earth.

         Opening Prayer

          Testing their knowledge:

         * What do you understand by "Miracles"? Do they exist? The general idea of the masses is that miracles are events which are impossible to happen; they are supernatural. If they are impossible to happen, they can’t exist since they go against the Laws of God.

         * How can we explain the extraordinary cases if Jesus didn’t perform any miracles?

Please mention this question but make sure they answer it after this class’ teachings are explained to them.

Please explain that something extraordinary is something that goes beyond what is usual, regular, or customary. It is something exceptional to a very marked extent.

People, in Jesus’ time, would name miracle/supernatural everything they could not explain. Miracles or supernatural things would go against the laws of God, according to the people at that time.

Miracle or supernatural is nothing more than natural phenomena which we still ignore.

There will come the time in which progress will lead us to understand the phenomenon and accept it as something natural. Let’s bear in mind nothing in the universe is diverted from the general laws. God does not perform miracles since his laws are perfect; he has no need to derogate them. If there are some facts which we do not understand, it is because we have not the necessary knowledge to comprehend them.

First: please relate the fact when Jesus walks over water.

Second: please narrate the text Jesus’ appearance after his death to the children.

Third: the well-known episode Marriage at Canaan.

Fourth: please split the room into three study groups: “A”, “B” and “C”. The spiritist teacher will split the questions and answers amongst the groups. You could have more groups well and give one or two questions per group.

Please give questions A and F for group “A”, questions B, C and D for group and questions E and G for group “C”.

Please give 10 minutes for the each group to study their questions and answers. The spiritist teacher can assist them at this time making sure they understand the explanations given to each question.

Fifth: Each group will have to explain their questions and answers to the entire class. The spiritist teacher can add any comments (if necessary).

         Sixth: conclusion.

Of all the faculties which have been revealed to us in Jesus, there is not one which is outside or beyond the conditions of humanity, because they are gifts of nature.

By the superiority of his moral essence and his fluidic qualities, they attained with him proportions above that of the common. He represented to us; aside form his carnal envelope, the state of pure spirits. He is a pure spirit who lived in Earth detached from the matter; he must have lived in the spiritual life more than in the carnal.

Whilst incredulity rejects all facts accomplished by Jesus having a supernatural aspect, and considers them without exception as legends, Spiritism gives greater part of them a natural explanation.

The greatest miracle Jesus performed was the revolution of his teachings. This attests his superiority as these changed the world, even if they haven’t been well absorbed by humanity.

Seventh: please question, once again: How can we explain the extraordinary cases if Jesus didn’t perform any miracles?

         Closing Prayer

Class Suggested being suitable for: 3rd cycle (11 to 12 years old) and Youth I (13 to 14 years old).
