Kindness II

         Initial Prayer

First: tell the story of Pixy’s kindness. The children need to understand who Pixy is. The spiritist teacher should build the character at the board, during the narrative. Every time Pita does a good action, the spiritist teacher should place the drawing of the animal she helped and also a part of Pixy. The teacher should start by placing her feet (the last part should be the head in order to let them identify Pixy is a centipede). By the end of the story, the teacher should ask if the children know which animal Pixy is.

Please see a template of the centipede’s drawing at the 3rd and 4th moments. Here below there are some suggestions for drawings to be worked with the children. Carvings from magazines or newspapers can also be used.

Second: talk to the children about the story

Who was Pixy? Pixy was a centipede.

How was Pixy? Describe the physical and moral characteristics of the centipede.

Who should we be kind with? We should kind with everyone; plants and animals, indistinctly.

What is it to be kind? It is to help, support, and respect all creatures in accordance with their individual needs.

Please remember kindness can become a habit, in proportion to paying attention to others’ needs in order to help them.

Please remember we should always treat others as we would like them to treat us: with kindness.

Third: Reminder the children that the animals, at Pixy’s birthday, wrote a song to her. Ask the children if they want to get to know the song. Distribute the lyrics and sing the song with them, if possible.

Fourth: Activity: paint and assemble the drawing of the centipede Pixy, which were done by Cleusa Lupatini, Spiritist teacher from the Spiritist Centre Seara do Mestre. You can place black wool at the animal to form its feet.
