Guardian angel


         Opening Prayer

         First: please talk to the children about the concept of guardian-angel, in accordance with the Spiritist Doctrine.

         What is a guardian-angel?

         What is his mission? He is a more evolved brother, whose mission is spirit-protector is obliged to watch over you, helping you in this existence.

         Obs.: please note this class was planned so that the spiritist teacher spends around 10 minutes in each activity, maximum. If the spiritist teacher feels he needs to spend more time in one or another, please adapt it according to your feeling and the need of the group.

         Second: please give each child a copy of the material spirit-protector. Please ask each of them to place cotton at the spirit-protector clothe and give him/her a name.

         Please explain them our spirit-protector is very similar to us, but a bit more evolved morally. When we pray, we are connecting to him. Please explain that spirit-protector don’t have wings, since they don’t need them. He does have a big and good heart since he is more evolved; they are more progressed spiritually. These beings are near us by the command of God. They often knew us before being incarnated.

         Third: please give each male child a copy of the material spirit-protector and boy; and each female child a copy of the material spirit-protector and girl. This will allow the children to identify themselves with their own spirit-protector. Please mention this doesn’t necessarily mean our spirit-protector will be of the same sex as ours. Please ask them to colour their picture as they wish.

         Fourth: please give each female child a copy of the material Girl; and each female child a copy of the material Boy. Please ask them to colour their picture as they wish, but make sure they feel identified with the drawing. Who would you pray for? Who would they ask the spirit-protector to help? Would they pray to thank God for us being part of a family? Please ask the children these questions and try to engage them.

         Fifth: please give each child a copy of the material ‘Colour the angel that is closest to you’. Please ask each of them to colour the angel that is closest to them and share it with the other colleagues.

         Sixth: please give each child a copy of the material ‘Please circle the angel only’. Please ask each of them to circle the angel only.

         Class suggested being suitable for: kindergarten (5 to 6 years old) and nursery; depending on the classes’ maturity and/or conditions.
