Love of Animals I

By M.C.L. "Whilst we don’t love an animal,
a part of our soul will remain asleep" Anatole Franco

Save a life
Adopt an animal

         Initial Prayer

First: tell the children the story called The lesson. . Here below there are some suggestions for drawings to be worked with the children. You can illustrate it with the drawings created by Cleusa Lupatini, Spiritist teacher at the Spiritist Centre Seara do Mestre.

         Cindy and Leo.

         Leo and the bees.

         Leo and the poison.

         Leo thinking.

         Leo and Mr. Joseph.

Second: talk to the children about the story and make some comments:

Do you think Leo’s attitude was correct, when he placed poison at the bees’ boxes?

Please highlight the importance and role of each animal in nature (remember them that the cow produces milk, the chicken lays eggs, the pig and any bovine provides us with meat, the bees produce honey, etc).

           Who have pets at home?

What do we need to do in order to look after our pets? When we have a pet, we need to treat it with care. Let’s remember they need food, fresh water, vaccines and to be cleaned.

How should we treat our pets when they are old or sick?

We should act on the same way with other animals; just like to care and respect our pets, we need to care and respect all other creatures.

Our pets are our friends and love playing with us.

Animals were created by God. We should respect and look after them.

FYI: the spiritist teacher could talk about charities that are working with abandoned animals (please check at your local area to see if there are any registered charities) and even support the adoption of abandoned animals

DO NOT ABANDON YOUR PET

Third - activity: please distribute to the children one of the drawings from the story for them to paint it.

Fourth - activity: get the children to place cotton at the cat's fur.
