The ability to concentrate

Focus means "pay particular attention to something; adapt to the prevailing level of light and become able to see clearly; an act of concentrating interest or activity on something." (Source: Oxford Dictionary.)

Prayer depends largely on the ability to concentrate when praying. Mental and emotional discipline is an important factor for effectiveness of prayer, by placing the person in direct line with those for whom it is addressed, whether they are superior spirits or God, our Father.

What is concentration? It is the ability to focus the attention on one single thought or subject, excluding everything else from the field of awareness. A good ability, which can be gained through proper exercises, enables one; to focus the mind on anything at will, without being distracted by thoughts, noises or anything else. Concentration results in the ability of someone to isolate themselves from the outside world turning their attention to the inside world focusing on the end goal.
