The Lost Sheep

         * Fence a corner of the classroom to form a "Sheep Fold". Leave a gap that serves as a passage for the sheep.

         * Explain that the sheep will be brought into the sheepfold at night, in order to protect them from wolves and thieves.

         * Blindfold all children/youth (they will represent the sheep in this group dynamic). Get one of them to represent the wolf.

         * Take the blindfolded "sheep" into the woods; anywhere away from the sheep fold. Make things more confusing for the sheep – get them to make turns in the pathway.

         * Once they are far away from the sheep fold, give them a signal to which they must seek to return to it.

         * The blindfolded wolf will try to get the sheep. The wolf will "howl" every time it takes a sheep. If this happens, the sheep that was taken by the wolf must pretend to be dead.

         * If the children/youth are having difficulty to find their way back into the sheep fold, hold on to their shoulders and gently place them in the right direction. As you guide them, say: This way, (name). This is the way to the sheep fold.

         * When all children/youth have returned to the fold, allow children to drop their veils.
