Free-will and Law of Cause and Effect

         Greetings and Opening Prayer

First: Get the adolescents to sit down in a circle, place a poster on the floor with the following question written on it:

Are we really free?

Second: place other posters on the ground, one by one. Each should have arguments written that will lead the adolescents to question freedom:
1 - What about obeying to civil laws and regulations?
2 - What about obeying to the conventions and responsibilities to society?
3 - What about our responsibilities with our family and relatives?
4 - What about the compulsory union of the spirit to the body?
5 - What about our concern for the preservation and sustenance of the physical body?
6 - What about needing to work as a need for our survival?

Third: all topics must be discussed, linking freedom with the law of cause and effect.

Fourth: the youth group should conclude that we are free, but our free will is linked to the consequences and freedom of our brothers and sisters.

Fifth: show them two other posters, summarizing the theme of the meeting, with the following phrases:
"The freedom to do what you want is conditioned to the freedom to do what you should." (Livro da Esperança)

" Everyone is free to desire, to choose, to do and to obtain, but we are also constrained to get the results of our own works." (Emmanuel / ‘Encontro Marcado’)

         Closing Prayer
