Greetings and Opening Prayer
First: Distribute paper cards to each adolescent containing an activity written on. Each one should do what’s written on the piece of paper to the colleague that’s on their right side. After that, ask each one to write down their names on the back of the card each received from the spiritist teacher and return it to the box (the spiritist teacher will need to bring this to the class).
Second: divide the class into seven groups and distribute five selected questions from The Spirits’ Book. Give one question to five groups. The two other remaining groups should receive an excerpt from item 872, taken from The Spirits’ Book - Theoretic Summary of the Springs of Human Action. Ask them to read and try to understand the texts.
The groups that got the questions taken from The Spirits’ Book are expected to discuss the issues together and formulate a response. The two remaining groups will assess whether their answers are correct. They can assist, expand or explain the answers using the excerpt taken from ‘Theoretic Summary of the Springs of Human Action’ as a reference. Each group should read the answer to their specific question in The Spirits’ Book later on.
Note: The groups will have around 5 min for the presentations.
Suggested selected questions from The Spirits’ Book:
843 – 845 – 848 – 851 – 853.
Click here to find a summary of item 872. This item was taken from The Spirits’ Book - Theoretic Summary of the Springs of Human Action.
Note: the spiritist teacher could also include ‘suicide’ as one topic to be discussed.
Third: read the story Circle of love, taken from the site Momento Espírita.
Note: this story can be read in chunks; ask the youth to make comments each time you pause. This aims at getting everyone to understand the message together.
Fourth: Go back to the initial group dynamic. Ask each youth to get one of the cards from the box. Ask them to read the name of his/her colleague and find him/her. Ask them to do to him/her what he/she had done to the other. This will enable them to understand that everything we do to others returns to us.
