Allan Kardec and the Spiritist Codification II

         Greetings and Opening Prayer

First: give each adolescent an envelope that contains fragments of several sentences. Each youngster should try to build his/her sentence, handing over the fragments that are not part of his/her sentence to other colleagues.

         Suggested phrases:

8 - The Genesis According to Spiritism contains diverse articles on the creation of the universe, the formation of the world, the origins of spirits and the role of divine intervention in the order of nature.

7 - In the book ‘Heaven and Hell’, Allan Kardec presents the true face of the desired "heaven" and the dreaded "Hell."

6 - The Gospel According to Spiritism contains explanations of the moral maxims of Christ in accordance with Spiritism and their application in various circumstances in life.

5 - The Mediums’ Book is intended to be an actual handbook containing doctrine and practices that one must master serve as intermediaries between the spiritual and the material worlds.

4 - The Spirits' Book is structured as a collection of questions regarding the origin of the spirits, the purpose of the life, the order of the universe, evil and good and the afterlife.

3 - “The Five Fundamental Works of Spiritism" (or The Spiritist Pentateuch) is the collection of the first five books written and published by French teacher, educator and Spiritism codifier Allan Kardec.

2 - The mission of Allan Kardec, according to “The Spirit of Truth", was to give life to a new philosophical, scientific and religious teaching.

1 - The true name of Codifier of Spiritism is Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail.

Note: We chose to write the sentences with different fonts/shapes so this task doesn’t become too difficult. Each envelope had the number of letters that corresponded to the sentence that should be mounted written in the front of it.

Second: Discuss each sentence in order once they are assembled by the adolescents. Explain a bit about the history of Allan Kardec: how he began his studies and then show them the basic Spiritist books; explaining what each one is.

         Closing Prayer
