Greetings and Opening Prayer
This meeting doesn’t have a special technique involved, but research. It’s based on a proposal of Education by projects, an approach from Portugal.
We began with many images of Jesus placed on the floor. Each adolescent should look for a few seconds at these images and then choose the one that drew their attention more. After each adolescent selected their image, they should state why they chose that image.
We set up a web search after that: we wrote the word Jesus in the centre of a brown paper. All questions came out from there.
It’s important to note that this is a web search. For this reason, there should be registered in it information they known, as well as doubts raised by adolescents (provoked by the spiritist teacher when necessary). These statements can be true or not. For example, we had adolescents in our meeting who said that Jesus resurrected. Although this is contrary to what the Spiritist teachings explain, this was written in the web as a hypothesis.
All hypotheses and questions brought on the web will be accepted or refuted from the exploitation of theoretical text. This should be agreed with the adolescents. Will the adolescents bring the texts? Will the spiritist teachers bring books/texts to this class? What works could we use as a base? We suggest several books should be made available that talk about Jesus.
Based on their readings, the adolescents can paint the true ideas that are written on the web. They could also cross the ideas that are not true. New findings on the subject should be added to the web.
Here's an example of a web search for this meeting.
